Work fun
My weekend job has its interesting moments. Where else can you come to work to find a dead duck hanging in a plastic bag from the door handle and have it be completely normal?

So true
My horoscope for the day read "If you're going over your budget or personal finances today, take it slow. You may have to hunt down a tiny error that is wreaking havoc with your system -- though it shouldn't threaten your fiscal health!" The tiny error being that I haven't had time to work for money. The whole short on cash college student stage is getting a little old.

last nerve
So it's been a long day. After the services I came out my car to find I'd left the lights on, battery dead and had an almost flat tire. (Thanks again J for the jump start.) The passenger side is flooded again.
I can't sleep and the heffalump just got home and started a movie on what must be surround sound. How is surround sound necessary when you live in a 150 square foot apartment!?!

Long day
Today we said goodbye to an old friend. He was part of a tight knit group my brother has been a part of since high school. They played sports together, worked weekend jobs, drove around in their trucks and were there watching out for each other through the years. They were all only a few grades ahead of me in high school and I was the younger sis that was often drug along (it was my only ride home). Often, as long as I kept quiet, I was allowed in on the fun. It was worth it. I'd tell you stories but I'm pretty sure my brother could still kick my butt. It was all mostly harmless.
One particular friend of his, Green, always had a smile. It wouldn't take much and he would have you laughing so hard it hurt. He worked hard and genuinely enjoyed life. He touched many lives and will be missed.

Prop 8
With 41% of districts still to report and a 6% lead, my hope that California Prop 8 will be defeated is pretty low. Maybe there are some in SF that haven't reported yet?? An article by Andrew Sullivan puts it in some perspective and gives hope for the future.
